Is it permissible to pay a sum of money to a client's purchasing manager to favor my company's product, knowing that not paying means losing the deal?

The money offered to the purchasing officer is a bribe, and it is among the great sins. Allah, the Almighty, says: {Listeners to falsehood, devourers of illicit gain.} (Al-Ma'idah:42) Al- and Sa'id ibn Jubayr interpreted this as bribery. And Allah, the Almighty, says: {And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly or send it [in bribery] to the rulers in order that you may knowingly consume a portion of the people's wealth sinfully.} (Al-Baqarah:188). The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the briber, the bribed, and the intermediary between them. Therefore, it is forbidden to solicit, accept, or give a bribe.
