Is it permissible to pay a percentage of money to an influential person to obtain work in the field of supplies, given that this is the only way to obtain work and the company's financial situation is unstable?

Bribery is a major sin, and it has been forbidden in the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah. The one who gives a bribe, the one who takes it, and the intermediary between them are all cursed. It is forbidden to ask for a bribe, to accept it, or to give it. It is also forbidden to act as an intermediary between the briber and the bribed.

As for a bribe that a person pays to obtain their right or to avert injustice or harm, it is permissible according to the majority of scholars. In this case, the sin falls upon the recipient of the bribe, not the giver. So, if the questioner is more deserving of the supply than others (for example, if their merchandise is superior, or if the other supplier is a company owned by disbelievers and their merchandise is equivalent), then there is no blame upon him for paying the money, and the sin is on the receiver.

However, if the questioner is equal to others in terms of merchandise and supply, then it is not permissible to pay this money, and the sin falls equally upon the giver and the receiver. The text warns against this demeaning act, betrayal of trust, and consuming people's wealth unlawfully.
