What is the ruling on blood falling from fish onto the ground, and must its place be washed?

The blood of fish is pure and does not need to be washed, because the purity of a dead fish indicates the purity of its blood. This is the view of Abu Hanifa and Ahmad, one of the two opinions among the Shafi'is, and chosen by some Malikis. Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Uthaymeen mentioned that fish blood is among the pure bloods, and that blood is divided into three categories: impure, from which nothing is excused; impure, from which a small amount is excused; and pure.
