Is it permissible to lie for the purpose of expediting something, such as setting the clock forward to prevent a father from being late for work?

As for setting the clock forward by one or two minutes, it is not a lie, but it is a deception towards your father and may harm him in his acts of worship and dealings, so it is not permissible. Instead, offer your father advice politely and supplicate for him that Allah may ease his affairs.
