Is it obligatory to invite the disliked father and his wife to the engagement and wedding, or is there no sin in not inviting them?

Firstly: Parents have a right to dutifulness and kindness, and a father's shortcomings or injustice towards his son do not justify the son's ill-treatment of him.

Secondly: Not inviting one's father to the wedding ceremony is forbidden, as it constitutes undutifulness and harm to the father. Allah becomes displeased with the son when his father is displeased with him, and this can lead to problems and the severing of family ties.

Thirdly: Honoring and being dutiful to one's stepmother is part of honoring and being dutiful to one's father. It is obligatory to address the hatred towards the father and his wife by treating them with kindness, for dutifulness to parents is one of the gates to Paradise.
