What is the ruling on seeking and accepting help from disbelievers?

If there is no fear of religious harm from requesting and accepting gifts from polytheists, then there is no objection to it. However, if there is a risk involved, it is not permissible to request or accept them, due to the necessity of guarding against Allah's prohibitions and keeping away from what displeases Him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, accepted some gifts from polytheists and did not accept them from others, for the wisdom mentioned.
