The answer

Working in the sale of permissible goods and foodstuffs is not forbidden, provided one avoids selling cigarettes and prohibited items. Working in the sale of alcohol and pork is forbidden because it is considered cooperation in sin, brings about a curse, its earnings are ill-gotten, and it prevents the acceptance of prayers. So, whoever abandons something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better. Sustenance is not attained through disobeying Allah.
