Why are the children of disbelievers, who were enslaved in war, considered slaves, even though the sins of fathers are not inherited by their children?

If Muslims capture disbelievers, the women and children become slaves the moment they are taken captive. As for the fighting men, the Imam has the choice concerning them between execution, enslavement, setting them free without ransom, or ransoming them for money or in exchange for a Muslim captive.

A child follows the status of its mother regarding slavery or freedom. Slaves are treated like property, and the children of a female slave follow her in her state of slavery.

If a master has sexual intercourse with his female slave, her children from him are free. If a slave marries a female slave, or a free man marries a female slave while knowing she is a slave, the child belongs to her master.

However, if a free man marries a female slave believing her to be free, or stipulates the freedom of the child, then the child is free.

The child following the mother in freedom and slavery is an agreed-upon matter, for slavery is not based on sin but is a legal ruling. Islam has indeed striven to free slaves.
