The meaning of "mann" (boasting of favors) is recounting the favor to the recipient. "Al-adha" (harm) is anything that hurts a person, whether through words, actions, or behavior. Both invalidate charity and diminish the meaning of benevolence, as stated in His Almighty's words: "O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with reminders of your favor or injury." It has been reported in the Hadith that the one who boasts of his favors is among the three whom Allah will not address on the Day of Resurrection.
