The 'awrah (intimate parts) of a woman in front of non-mahram men is her entire body, except for the face and hands. The prevailing fatwa is that it is obligatory to cover them as well. It is permissible to interact with a non-mahram woman when there is a need, and there is safety from temptation, and without speaking in a soft, alluring manner. As for what she may show to her mahram relatives, it is the extremities such as the head, neck, hands, and feet. There is no 'awrah between spouses, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Guard your 'awrah except from your wife or your maidservant." It is permissible for them even to look at the private parts, though it is preferable for neither of them to look at the 'awrah of the other.
