Is it permissible for a woman to conceal that she is an adulteress if another man proposes to her?
Adultery is one of the most heinous sins. Whoever commits it must hasten to repent by abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving never to return to it, while keeping it private and not disclosing it, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever commits any of these abominations should conceal himself with the concealment of Allah." A repentant woman is not an adulteress, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin." If a woman loses her virginity, she is not permitted to conceal this from a suitor if he stipulates virginity or if custom considers its loss a defect. However, she is not obligated to inform him of the reason for its loss.
