What is meant by His — the Almighty’s — saying: "There is no blame upon you whether you eat together or separately" (24:29)? Does it include men and women?

Ibn Kathir says in his interpretation of the verse from Surah An-Nur that people used to feel awkward eating alone, so Allah granted them permission to do so. The purpose of the verse is to clarify the permissibility of eating alone or in a group, and the verse does not prohibit a man from eating with his unmarriageable female relatives (mahrams).
