Is it permissible to wrap the leg with a bandage or medical dressing for protection during the performance of rituals and in the state of Ihram, due to the presence of old burn scars that make the skin thin and susceptible to injury?

It appears permissible to tie the Ihram garment or the Izar (waist wrapper) and similar items. This is not considered wearing tailored clothes, which is forbidden, as long as it is not worn in the usual manner. This is supported by what has been authentically reported from a group of the Salaf regarding the permissibility for a pilgrim in Ihram to tie a bandage on a wound without having to pay a fidyah (expiation). Among them are Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab, 'Ata, and Mujahid.
