Wiping over the Khuff (leather socks) is invalidated by the presence of something necessitating ghusl (major ritual purification), such as janabah (state of ritual impurity following sexual activity or seminal discharge). It is also invalidated by the expiration of the specified period for wiping, which is three days and nights for the traveler, and one day and night for the resident. This period begins from the first time one wipes over them. Furthermore, wiping is invalidated by removing the khuff or one of them.
