Is it permissible for the worshipper to clench his little finger and ring finger between the two prostrations and point with his index finger as in the Tashahhud?

The jurists differed on how to place the hands between the two prostrations. Some held the view that one should clench the right hand and point with the index finger, similar to the Tashahhud, while others held the view that one should extend them. Ibn Al-Qayyim mentioned that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would sit with his left leg folded under him (iftirash), place his hands on his thighs, clench his fingers, and form a ring (with his thumb and middle finger), then raise his finger to supplicate with it and move it. As for Ibn Uthaymeen, he held the view that one should extend the left hand and clench the right hand, pointing with the index finger and moving it during supplication, citing the hadith of Wa'il ibn Hujr as evidence. He believed that this is not limited to the Tashahhud but includes all sitting positions in prayer. However, Al-Albani considered the narration of moving the index finger between the two prostrations to be weak, and that the correct view is to move it only during the Tashahhud. This matter is an issue of ijtihad (independent reasoning), and a Muslim should follow what is supported by the strongest evidence to him, or imitate the most knowledgeable if no strong evidence is apparent to him.
