Is it obligatory to inform the wife's family about her rumored immoral behavior that has affected the family's reputation, and does this fall under the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever conceals the fault of his Muslim brother, Allah will conceal his fault on the Day of Resurrection, and whoever exposes the fault of his Muslim brother, Allah will expose his fault until He disgraces him with it in his own house"?

If a husband and wife separate, custody belongs to the mother by scholarly consensus, unless there is an impediment preventing her, such as her immorality, in which case custody transfers to the next deserving guardian. If there is a dispute over custody, it is referred to the Sharia court. Whoever perceives a suspicious behavior in the mother should advise her and remind her of Allah. If she does not desist from the evil, her guardian should be informed to prevent her, and this is not considered revealing private matters. The covering of faults that is recommended applies to one who is not known for causing harm or corruption. As for one who is known for such, it is desirable not to conceal their actions.
