Is a Muslim wife obligated to seek divorce from her unbelieving husband who does not believe in Allah, His Messenger, or the Day of Resurrection, or is it permissible for her to be patient with him until their children reach puberty, knowing that she does not work, has no shelter, and her husband threatens to evict her and deprive her of her children?

Delaying necessary decisions is not effective, especially in the case of an unlawful association. A Muslim woman must leave an atheist husband and begin an independent life, because marriage to a disbeliever is Islamically invalid, as Allah Almighty says: (Neither are they lawful (wives) for them nor are they lawful (husbands) for them). It is advisable to seek employment and formally request annulment of the marriage to secure financial rights, as there is no justification for delay and it contributes nothing to the matter.
