- Will the prayer of a Muslim who uses tobacco be answered?
Muslim narrated from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that Allah is good and accepts only what is good. He commanded the believers with what He commanded the messengers: to eat of the good things and to do righteous deeds. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, mentioned that among the impediments to the acceptance of supplication is for a person's food, drink, and clothing to be unlawful (), and for him to be nourished by unlawful means. How then can his supplication be answered? Tobacco is inherently unlawful because it is harmful, and the jurisprudential rule states: "There shall be no harm nor reciprocating harm." So, whoever desires the acceptance of his supplication must avoid unlawful things in his food, drink, and clothing.
