As for its probative force (احتجاج), Ibn Hajar clarified that some types of Hasan (like Hasan li-dhatihi - good in itself) are unanimously accepted as probative, while other types do not have such an agreement. Therefore, li-ghayrihi (sound due to external factors) - which is Hasan li-dhatihi with multiple chains of transmission - is more worthy of being used as proof because it is of a higher degree.
