Is it necessary to make up for a voluntary fast in Sha'ban if it was interrupted due to travel and breaking the fast?

Whoever was observing a voluntary fast may break it, and there is no make-up (qada') required of him. However, it is preferable not to break it except for a valid excuse. If he does break it, it is preferable to make up for that day to avoid disagreement, based on the hadith of Ibn Umar, Ibn Abbas, and Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with them.
