Obedience to Allah is the cause of success and prosperity in this world and the Hereafter. Neglecting His obedience harms the servant himself. Allah Almighty has clarified that obeying Him and seeking His pleasure is the path to attaining a good life in this world, in the barzakh (interim world), and in the Hereafter. Allah Almighty says: "Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do."

The Fajr prayer is among the greatest acts of closeness [to Allah]. Whoever prays Fajr and Asr will enter Paradise. Maintaining it is a sign of believers, and it is the heaviest two prayers for the hypocrites. The recitation of the Quran has immense virtue, and those who recite the Book of Allah, establish prayer, and spend [in charity] hope for a trade that will never perish. Hastening to prayer and waiting for it in the mosque is considered ribat (guarding the frontiers), and among its causes are: performing wudu thoroughly, taking many steps towards the mosques, and waiting for the next prayer after a prayer.

Sleeping through a prayer, if it is accompanied by taking the necessary measures to wake up, incurs no sin. However, if one neglects to take measures to wake up, it is feared that they may be sinful. What helps in maintaining acts of obedience is: contemplating their virtues and great rewards, realizing the insignificance and worthlessness of this world, and striving in supplicating Allah Almighty.
