What is the ruling on praying in a garment from which inner shorts appear due to a small tear, and what is the ruling on covering the tear with the outer undershirt for prayer?

If large trousers have a slight tear, and underneath them are small trousers that cover the awrah (private parts), then it is permissible to go to the mosque with them and pray in them. There is no need to cover the tear with a T-shirt, because the covering is achieved by the inner trousers. However, it is more complete for the worshipper to come to prayer in his best appearance and finest clothes; as Allah Almighty says: "O Children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid."
