If the car was impounded unjustly, its owner has the right to demand compensation for the car's usufruct during the period of impoundment. The compensation is estimated based on the customary rental value. The majority of jurists are of the opinion that the usufruct of properties is guaranteed against deprivation by the customary rental value. So, if you are the owner of the car, you are entitled to the entire compensation. However, if the car was granted to you for use only and you do not own it, the compensation belongs to the car's owner, unless there is an agreement between you to the contrary.
