How do I recognize the signs of death in a person?

Among the signs of approaching death are: rattling in the throat (hargaja), tightness in the chest, and gurgling (gharghara). As for the signs of death and its complete cessation, they are: the staring of the eyes, cessation of breathing, parting of the lips, dropping of the feet, separation of the forearms, tilting of the nose, stretching of the facial skin, sinking of the temples, and contraction of the testicles with the dangling of their skin.
