Is alcohol considered an impurity that invalidates prayer if it touches one's clothes or if the drinker is intoxicated, or is ablution alone sufficient for prayer, knowing that the Companions used to pray while intoxicated before alcohol was forbidden?

The ruling on alcohol has been previously clarified. The opinion that it is impure prevents the prayer of anyone stained by it until they purify themselves. The prayer of an intoxicated person who has lost their senses is invalid, as Allah Almighty says: (O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying). This prohibition of prayer while intoxicated is decisive and affirmed by the prohibition of alcohol.
