Does a husband have the right to intervene and prevent his wife from waiving her inheritance rights?
It is not permissible to force sisters to waive their share of their father's inheritance. Waiving under pressure or embarrassment does not make the wealth lawful, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The wealth of a Muslim person is not lawful except with his willing consent." What is taken out of shyness is like what is taken by force. As for a waiver made willingly by a mature, sensible woman, there is no religious impediment to it. It is permissible for a husband to ask his wife not to waive her right for her own benefit or her need for the money.
