The remaining deferred Mahr (dowry) is subject to if a year has passed while it is in one's possession and it reaches the (minimum threshold). The Nisab for currency is determined by the value of 85 grams of pure gold. Therefore, whoever possesses the equivalent of this value or more, and a year has passed while it is in their possession, Zakat becomes obligatory upon them. Whoever possesses less than that is not obligated to pay Zakat, unless they have trade goods that complete the Nisab.
