Is it permissible to use AutoCAD software in illicit ways (such as cracking) in a contracting company, what is the ruling on using such software in the past, and what is the ruling on using old versions that are no longer available for sale?

Scholars differ on the validity of software copyrights. The fatwa adopted by us is that they are absolutely valid. Therefore, if the producing entity does not permit copying the program or its key onto more than one device, this must be adhered to. As for compensating the producers, this is determined by experts. There is no objection to copying old programs that are no longer sold and have been abandoned by their producers.
