What is the expiation for intentionally having intercourse with one's wife during the daytime in Ramadan ten years ago, and repeating this act on most days of that month, while also not completing the fast of that month? Sincere repentance (Tawbah Nasuh) is obligatory for sexual intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan. An expiation (Kaffarah) is required for each day on which intercourse occurred, which is: fasting for two consecutive months, or feeding sixty needy persons if unable to fast. Some scholars hold that one expiation suffices for all the days, but the more cautious opinion is the first one. The expiation is binding for the days on which intercourse is certain, and all the broken fasts must be made up (Qada').
