Is the questioner considered sinful in the event of a dispute and estrangement with his two brothers over inheritance, despite his attempts at reconciliation and their rejection of it, and knowing that they deal in the same manner with their father and the rest of the family?

Severing ties of kinship is a major sin against which Islam has warned, especially concerning close relatives. This is in accordance with the Almighty's saying: (Then, is it to be expected of you, if ye were put in authority, that ye will do mischief in the land, and break your ties of kith and kin?), and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No severer of ties of kinship will enter Paradise."

What has been mentioned about the actions of the two brothers does not justify severing ties with them. Rather, one must maintain ties with them and treat them with kindness, even if they respond to kindness with ill-treatment. This is based on the Prophet's saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "The one who maintains ties of kinship is not he who reciprocates, but rather the one who maintains ties when his relatives sever them."
