What is the ruling on demolishing a mosque and changing its name?

There is no sacred inviolability in demolishing a mosque if there is a general need for its demolition, such as its expansion, or the expansion of a public road, or a cemetery, or the like. It is preferable to leave the name of the mosque as it is, as there is no need to change it.
