Are there any Hadith that mention hope?

The concept of amal (hope), which is the desire for survival and longevity, has been mentioned in many prophetic hadiths. Among them is what Al-Bukhari narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that the Prophet (peace be upon him) drew a square line representing man, encompassed by ajal (the appointed time of death). The lines on the sides represented the afflictions that gnaw at him, while the line outside represented amal (hope/longing). In the Sahihayn (Bukhari and Muslim), it is narrated from Abu Hurairah that the heart of an old person remains young in its love for worldly life and long amal (hope/longing). And from Anas, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The son of Adam grows old, but two things remain young with him: amal (hope/longing) and love for money." In another narration: "Greed for money and greed for life."
