What is the ruling on one who says that it is not obligatory to follow the Messenger - may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him - in everything; because he is a human being who strives, makes mistakes, and is correct?

Obedience to the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, is obligatory and a fundamental principle of faith, based on the Holy Quran and the Prophet's Sunnah. A Muslim's faith is not complete until he makes the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, the judge in all matters, and finds no discomfort in his rulings, submitting completely. Allah has conditioned success and guidance upon obedience to the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and following him. The Sunnah of the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, is infallible, and if he made an effort in a matter and did not reach the correct conclusion, revelation would descend to correct and clarify. This objector has not understood the principles of following the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and their place in the religion.
