Is it permissible to treat with the Beautiful Names of Allah, such as saying to a patient regarding their eye: "O All-Seeing"?

The fatwa can be summarized as follows:

The practice of healing through the Beautiful Names of Allah (Asma’ Allah al-Husna) has become widespread, along with increasing claims that each of Allah’s Beautiful Names possesses a healing energy for specific ailments.

These claims are false and incorrect for the following reasons: 1. Healing is either achieved through tangible (sensory) means or through Shar’i (textually prescribed) means. What the researcher has presented lacks any Shar’i or tangible basis, and it is impermissible to experiment with Shar’i evidences in this manner. 2. Some of the names mentioned for healing are not among Allah’s Beautiful Names, such as “Jalla Jalaluh” (Glorified be His Majesty) and “Al-Rashid” (The Guide), which indicates the claimant's ignorance and the falsity of his assertions. 3. Specifying the method of treatment and assigning a specific Name of Allah for each disease falls under the category of speaking about Allah without knowledge, which is Islamically forbidden. 4. The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta’ has refuted these claims, emphasizing that this practice is invalid and constitutes atheism concerning Allah’s Names and a degradation of them. Allah’s Names are to be invoked and they affirm the attributes of Allah that they denote. It is not permissible to use them for healing without a Shar’i proof. Therefore, these papers must be destroyed, and one must repent to Allah for these actions.
