Does the ruling on female students gifting their teachers vary according to the number of female students giving the gift, or the number of teachers receiving the gift, or the timing of the gift (before or after graduation), or the type of gift (material or ongoing charity), and is holding a party for teachers considered to be in the place of a gift?

Female students should avoid giving gifts to their teachers as long as they are in the educational stage. This is to close the door to favoritism that might affect grades and assignments, whether the gift is monetary or in kind, and whether it is given to one teacher or a group. This is based on the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) saying: "Gifts to officials are ill-gotten gains." An exception to this is if the gift is given after the results are announced, or after the students graduate and the teacher no longer has authority over them, because the possibility of favoritism is negated, and the gift becomes an expression of thanks and gratitude. Ibn Baz and Ibn Jibreen issued fatwas prohibiting the acceptance of gifts from female students during teaching, but permitting them after the teacher transfers or after the educational relationship ends.
