What is the ruling on naming a newborn "Shulaywih," and does its meaning imply exaggeration in undressing and removing clothes?

We have not found anything indicating the correct meaning of the name "Shalhā'". It is mentioned in Arabic lexicons that the root word "shalh" means "sword" among the people of Shihr. However, Al-Azhari denied the word's authentic Arabic origin.

Assuming its Arabic origin, it could carry both a good and an undesirable meaning. There are many well-known good names that make it unnecessary to use this one.

Naming the newborn is the father's right, and the choice of name should ideally be made after consultation between the parents.
