What is the authenticity of the hadith: "Towards the end of time, men will emerge who seek worldly gain through religion, who wear the skins of lambs to people out of gentleness, whose tongues are sweeter than sugar, and whose hearts are the hearts of wolves. Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, says: Are they deceiving Me, or are they daring against Me? By Me, I swear I shall send upon them a trial that will leave even the most forbearing among them bewildered"?

This Hadith is weak and not authentic. It has been narrated through three chains, all of which are weak:

1. The narration from Abu Hurayrah: Its chain of transmission is very weak, revolving around Yahya ibn Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah ibn Mawhab, whom many imams have declared weak, and his father is unknown. 2. The narration from Ibn Umar: Its chain of transmission is weak, revolving around Hamzah ibn Abi Muhammad, whom Abu Hatim and others have declared weak and described as unknown. 3. The narration from Abu Darda’: Its chain of transmission is flawed, as it includes Uthman ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Umar al-Waqqasi, who is abandoned (matruk) and accused of lying.

Based on the foregoing, the Hadith in question is not authentically attributed to the Prophet, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him.
