What is the meaning of Allah's name (Al-Hayiyy)?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, described his Lord Almighty with shyness (haya'), and it is a shyness of generosity, righteousness, munificence, and majesty. For Allah, glory be to Him, out of His mercy, generosity, perfection, and forbearance, is shy to expose His servant and disgrace him, and He is shy to turn away one who extends his hands to Him. And He, glory be to Him, loves those who possess shyness. Ibn al-Qayyim said: "He is the Shy, so He does not expose His servant When he openly commits acts of disobedience, But rather He casts His cover upon him For He is the Concealer and the Owner of Forgiveness."
