Is it permissible for the water to exceed the washed limb during wudu unintentionally?

The majority of scholars hold the view that it is recommended to wash beyond the limits of the limb in ablution, which is known as italat al-ghurrah (lengthening the blaze) and italat al-tahjil (lengthening the white markings), contrary to the Malikis who consider it disliked. Lengthening the blaze means washing more than what is obligatory of the face, and lengthening the white markings means washing more than what is obligatory of the hands and feet. This action is correct and there is no harm in it.
