How sound is the narration reported on the authority of (Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Ahmad Al-Daba'i) and on the authority of (Qabisah bin Uqbah)? And what is the meaning of the term "Sadooq rubbama khalaf" (truthful, but may occasionally contradict others)? Is it considered a disparagement or an authentication?

Qabeesah ibn Uqbah as-Suwa'i al-Kufi is trustworthy, righteous, truthful, and there is no harm in him. He is more reliable than Abu Hudhayfah and superior to Abu Nu'aym. His memorization of Sufyan's hadith was from when he was young. Al-Bukhari narrated 44 hadiths from him. Abd al-Haqq narrates in his "Ahkam" from Qabeesah and Abu Nu'aym. It was said about him that he made many mistakes. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in "At-Taqrib": "Truthful, perhaps he contradicted [others]," meaning his hadith is acceptable unless his contradiction becomes evident. As for Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Ahmad ad-Daba'i, we have not found anyone who wrote his biography. It is possible that he is Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Nasr ibn al-Haytham Abu Ja'far ad-Daba'i al-Ahwal, and he is truthful.
