What is the ruling on printing religious and cultural papers from a work printer and using the internet without the employer's knowledge, and what must be done to repent for that, and how can the employer be compensated, and is it permissible to do so while paying the customary market value for printing?
It is not permissible for a Muslim to take the money of his brother or benefit from something he owns except with his consent, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The property of a Muslim person is not lawful unless given with his willing consent." This includes using work tools such as printing papers and browsing the internet without the owner's permission, whether the permission is explicit or customary. Whoever has done so must repent to Allah by returning the cost of usage or seeking the employer's forgiveness. Compensation can be made with an equivalent value without informing him, along with the firm intention not to return to such an act.
