What is the ruling on a company taking a commission of 50,000 for mediating the sale of goods priced at 50,000 for 100,000 to a buyer who is unaware of the original price, and then selling it to him by agreement to split the profits?

It is not permissible to tell the buyer that the price of the merchandise is 100,000 when its real price is 50,000, in order to obtain a commission representing the difference. This is a forbidden lie and an unlawful consumption of people's wealth. Allah Almighty says: "And do not consume your properties among yourselves through unlawful means." The permissible commission is that which is known to the buyer and agreed upon with him in advance. As for selling merchandise for half the profit, it is permissible according to the preponderant opinion.
