What should a mother do regarding her 12-year-old daughter who is not regular in prayer, does not adhere to the Shar’i hijab, and is influenced by her immodestly dressed friends, especially with external harassments that prevent her from adhering to the hijab?

The শরীʿআ (Islamic law) requires a woman to wear the hijab when she reaches the age of menstruation. The authoritative fatwa is that it is obligatory to cover the face and hands, especially in this era. Therefore, it is not permissible for your daughter to remove her hijab, and if the hijab conflicts with education, then the hijab is obligatory. As for her negligence in prayer and her non-compliance with the specifications of the hijab, this should be addressed with wisdom and gentleness, by teaching her matters of her religion, making her love good deeds, and preventing her from bad company. If she does not respond, then you must prevent her from wearing non-compliant clothing, even by force if it does not lead to a greater harm.
