To draw closer to Allah in this situation, one should preserve the obligatory duties and avoid the prohibitions, then increase in supererogatory acts, along with patience and good presumption of Allah. The acceptance of deeds depends on sincerity and conformity to the , and it is not harmed by being in a state of tribulation, for Allah may test His servants so they may repent.
