What is the ruling regarding a woman who vowed to donate her first salary for a year, then her salary was discontinued after two months due to completing her studies? Is she obligated to pay the remaining amount, or can she postpone it until she finds another job?

Fulfilling a vow (nadhr (definition)) is obligatory in the manner in which its maker vowed it, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him." The sister has done well in fulfilling the vow while she was working. If her work ceases, the execution of the remaining part of the vow is suspended until she starts another job, at which point she can complete what remains of it. It appears that she is not obligated to fulfill the remaining part of the vow until she works again.

We would like to point out that a conditional vow is disliked, as it neither brings benefit nor repels harm. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it, saying: "Indeed, it does not bring good, but rather it is used to extract from the miser."
