Is it permissible for a woman to travel to another country before the end of her waiting period (iddah) to temporarily reside with her mother-in-law, who requested this to care for her grandchildren after the death of her son, knowing that she prefers to rent her own house?

The waiting period (iddah) for a non-pregnant widow is four months and ten days, while for a pregnant woman, it is until she gives birth. It is not permissible for the woman in her waiting period to leave her home until the iddah ends. There is no need to deprive the grandmother of her grandchildren; some of them can be given to her during the waiting period. If the woman in her waiting period lives with her mother-in-law after the iddah, she must be cautious about being alone with the mother-in-law's sons, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No man is alone with a woman except if she has a mahram with her," and his saying: "Beware of entering upon women."
