Is it permissible for a ritually impure (junub) sick person who is unable to perform ghusl (ritual bathing) and performs tayammum (dry ablution) for prayer to touch the Noble Qur’an?

It is permissible for a person in a state of ritual impurity (junub) who is unable to perform ghusl (definition) (full ritual ablution) to touch the Mushaf (definition) (copy of the Qur'an) after performing tayammum (definition) (dry ablution). Ibn Qudamah mentioned in Al-Mughni the permissibility of tayammum for anything for which purification is required, such as touching the Mushaf and reciting the Qur'an. He narrated from Imam Ahmad, who said: "He performs tayammum and recites his portion," meaning the junub person. This is the view of Ata, Mak-hul, Al-Zuhri, Rabi'ah, Yahya Al-Ansari, Malik, Al-Shafi'i, Al-Thawri, and the people of opinion (Ahl Al-Ra'y).
