How can a mother be convinced to divide inheritance among sons and daughters, in an environment that refuses to give daughters their share, without provoking her anger?

Preventing daughters from inheriting is a pre-Islamic custom that Islam abolished. Allah, the Exalted, says: "For men is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave, and for women is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave, be it little or much - an obligatory share." It is not permissible for the mother to disinherit her daughters. They should advise their mother gently and wisely, explaining that this is a matter from the days of ignorance which Islam abolished, and that "the whole of a Muslim is inviolable for another Muslim: his blood, his wealth, and his honor." They can seek the help of righteous relatives to convince their mother.
