Is a woman afflicted with dementia obligated to repeat or make up the prayers she missed during the times she was not conscious?

A woman is obligated to pray during times of consciousness and lucidity. However, during times when she loses her mind, she is not required to make up missed prayers, as she is considered to be in the same ruling as an insane person. The majority of scholars hold that an insane person is not commanded to make up prayers missed during their state of insanity, whether their insanity is original or temporary, because they are not among those who are held accountable. The Hanafis are of the view that temporary insanity is like unconsciousness: if it lasts for five prayers, she should make them up, but if it exceeds that, the obligation to make up the prayers is waived.
