What is meant by the verse: "Indeed, those who disbelieved after their belief, their repentance will never be accepted from them"?

The verse, "Indeed, those who disbelieved after their belief and then increased in disbelief - never will their repentance be accepted, and those are the astray" (Quran 3:90), means that whoever disbelieved after having believed and persisted in their disbelief until their death, their repentance will not be accepted at the time of death. These are the astray, those who have deviated from the true path. The non-acceptance of repentance at the time of death is further supported by the Almighty's saying: "But repentance is not for those who do evil deeds until, when death approaches one of them, he says, 'Indeed, I have repented now,' nor for those who die while they are disbelievers. For those We have prepared a painful torment" (Quran 4:18).
